HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Jeff, Erin, & Jason!
Last night we celebrated the January & February Birthdays in my family: Jeffrey's Birthday (my brother-in-law) was Jan. 9th, Erin's Birthday (my sister) is Feb. 9th, Jason's is Feb. 15th.
Mom and Grandma made a delicious homemade feast including Grandma's famous chicken-n- noodles, roast beef, homemade mashed potatoes, green beans, peas and more. I contributed with salad and Pampered Chef's "Beer Bread". We finished the meal with our choice of Concannon's Red Velvet Cake or Cheesecake with different toppings! Thank you, again, Grandma for hosting this birthday celebration! We always love your cooking! :)

As we ate dinner, we went around the table and each person got to say one thing that they loved about Jeff, Erin, & Jason. Although it was very sincere, there were times where we about fell out of our chairs. For example: When talking about what we loved about Erin, Jeff (her husband) said, "Is it okay to say that I love the fact that her ankles can reach her ears?" WOW... we were not expecting that comment!
Last night, we definitely had an empty chair at the table. As we ate, I thought of all the wonderful memories I have of eating meal after meal at the table with Papa. From breakfast throughout elementary & middle school, to high school when I would stop by after a volleyball match to have a snack, talk about the game, and of-course... try to predict what the newspaper would have to say in the morning. Then came college when I would come in with my girlfriends who were in need of "Grandma's cooking". Papa was always there to listen to the latest drama, give advice, and enjoy the company. After Jason & I got married, we frequently found ourselves walking up to their home for breakfast, lunch, dinner... you name it - we were spoiled! (No wonder Jason says I don't cook!) I know I will cherish these memories forever! Grandma, I thank you for creating these memories with your gifted ability to cook! You are the best cook I know!!!
Enjoy a few pics from the evening...
