My colleagues and I on Bourbon Street
WHEW... what a week. I got home from NTI (National Teaching Institute) last night. I was a fun, yet exhausting week. All of our presentations went very well. We actually had a total of seven presentations from our hospital. It was so amazing to see everyone leading the nation in caring for critically ill adults. There were over 5,000 critical care nurses present. This number is way down from previous years when attendance ranged from 8,000 - 9,000. I guess the economy is affecting everyone. Regardless, we had a blast!
I went to New Orleans the spring before Katrina hit, so I was very interested to see what the city looked like post Katrina. I was surprised. Honestly... in the city, you could not see any damage. We were told that once you got away from Bourbon Street & the French Quarter, the damage was very evident.
I'll try to update "Our Pics" sometime next week, but now... we are off to the lakes for Memorial Day! I hope you all have a fun & safe holiday weekend!
Nadia
