My oh my... I cannot believe it has taken me over a month to post anything about vacation. Many of you know, I came home from vacation to a transition period in my life. I resigned from my management position back in September and trained the incoming manager in November and December. I needed days off during the week in order to complete my clinical requirements for my NP degree. So, I am now working as a staff nurse in the ICU and adjusting back to 12 hour shifts. I must say, I absolutely love 4 days off per week!!!
Okay, enough on that... our vacation was AWESOME! We had a really good time and mentioned more than once, how we wished many of you were there with us! The week started off a little scary, as we almost missed our connecting flight. We flew from Dayton, through Houston, to Miami. Upon arriving in Houston, we quickly learned that the train, connecting terminal to terminal, was down. They were using one bus to shuttle over 500 people! Did I mention the one bus was a "short bus"? Seriously!?! We had 30 minutes and were at the back of the line. We looked at each other and realized that we were most likely going to miss our cruise. Once we realized this... the race was ON! We ran down the UP escalator and made it close to the front of the line. I am certain we made quite a few people mad. But, do you really think they were going to say something to Jason? After skilled negotiations with airport personnel, Jason and I were escorted by the Chief of Airport Operations (in his car) to our connecting flight! WHEW - it was a close one, with only minutes to spare. By this point... we were more than ready for vacation!
I put together a slide show of our pictures. It's difficult to take pictures with only two people, but hopefully we captured a few good ones. Our favorite Port of Call was Georgetown, Grand Cayman. I think our next vacation may be a week in Grand Cayman! Jason liked it so much, he "wants to retire there"! (We'll see!) In Ocho Rios, we climbed over 600 feet of water falls. This was absolutely beautiful! The weather was perfect (except when we left Miami)! We had many hours in the sun, took naps every day, and enjoyed the delicious food! The perfect vacation in my book! Enjoy the slide show!
